Our Approach
We know that deciding to start therapy, and choosing the right therapist, takes courage. Our goal from the very first interaction is to make that process feel a little easier.
We bring a warm, relational style to their work, but we’ll also help you see what's hard to see on your own. Our practice aims a place to understand yourself more deeply, identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck, and build real, lasting tools for navigating life's seasons.
We also believe support doesn't have to stop at the therapy room door. When relevant, we connect clients with community resources, support groups, and other trusted providers who can offer additional layers of care.
We take a trauma-informed approach with every client. That means we lead with curiosity instead of assumption, move at a pace that feels safe, and always center your experience over any particular method or agenda.
How We Work
Our practice utilizes a variety of evidence-based treatments including
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Informed Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
Both Katelin and Kristen have also received advanced training in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International.
After an intake assessment with one of our clinicians, we will outline our recommended approach, tailored to meet your unique needs and treatment goals.
Please note, we are currently only offering telehealth services to clients living anywhere in Virginia, Washington D.C., and California.
